Urban masterplans and toolbox for Edible Cities
EdiCitNet is an EU funded Research and Innovation project under the priority “demonstrating innovative nature-based solutions to urban challenges”. EdiCitNet aims at Integrating Edible City Solutions for socially resilient & sustainably productive cities. It is based on an approach of Front Runner Cities (FRC) and Follower City (FC) to facilitate the rapid exploitation, replication and up-scaling of the solutions. Since the project launched in September 2018, FRC have developed been defining and implementing their living labs. While FC have started their activities this month with the kick-off of the “Transition Pathway-Planning for edible city solutions in FC” held from 7 May to 10 May in Andernach, Germany. In this process, the partners will develop tailormade Masterplans by integrating the knowledge from the Front-Runner Cities. Participants also worked on the co-development of EdiCitNet toolbox featuring a decision support system, a catalogue of solutions and a serious game.
