Western Mediterranean Forum meets in Barcelona

Foreign ministers from the Maghreb and Europe gathered in Barcelona for their first-ever economic summit. "Our goal is to make the Mediterranean a region of prosperity and opportunities between the two shores," Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy said in his welcoming address.

During this event, Algeria and Spain reaffirmed their willingness to prepare a Water Strategy for the Western Mediterranean as announced earlier this year at the UN General Assembly.
