Postdoctoral Hydraulic Engeniery Position at VAW, ETH Zurich
A post-doc position is open at the Hydraulic Structures Division of the Laboratory of Hydraulics, Hydrology and Glaciology (Versuchsanstalt für Wasserbau, Hydrologie und Glaziologie, VAW), ETH Zurich, Zürich Switzerland.
We are concerned with teaching, research and modelling in hydraulic engineering, offering good working quality and a competitive salary in a well known European hydraulic institute.
The qualified applicant has a PhD in hydraulic engineering, a successful publication profile and is experienced mainly with experimental methods to analyze water flows in relation with hydraulic structures. Knowledge of and experience with numerical methods and modelling are advantageous.
We expect a young, motivated person up to a maximum age of roughly 35 years, interested in research activities and willing to supervise the research of our PhD students, particularly in the fields of hydro-abrasion of hydraulic structures, by-pass tunnels and turbines, the settling behaviour at desilting facilities and reservoirs, or of eco-hydraulic aspects including measure to improve fish migration.
We further expect a collaboration in the management of the laboratory activities and successful proposals of new research contracts. Working language is English, basic German knowledge in addition would be certainly an advantage. We are pleased to see your CV. Please also refer to the homepage.
