Managing Director, Global Freshwater Team, the Nature Conservancy, USA
The Nature Conservancy seeks a strategic conservation thinker to lead and manage its Global Freshwater Team. The primary focus of the team is to reduce the impact of water infrastructure development, reduce agriculture’s footprint on freshwater resources, improve water management for people and nature, and advance system-scale conservation and management of great rivers around the world. The Director is accountable for raising public and private funds to support the freshwater team and its activities and serves as the Conservancy’s principal freshwater spokesperson to government agencies, foundations, academia and partner conservation organizations.
Bachelor’s degree required/Master’s degree preferred w/15 yrs experience in freshwater conservation or equivalent. Management, supervisory and budgetary experience required; experience in motivating and chartering interdisciplinary teams; experience in identifying, cultivating and closing major donor gifts; experience in influencing, developing and implementing conservation policy and plans; ability to build partnerships in multiple countries; ability to work with current trends and practices in sustainable water management and freshwater conservation across global regions. Frequent travel inside/outside the U.S.
