Israel's water crisis
After a poor winter Israel is in a real water crisis.
Israel's main water source is the Kinneret which also called "Sea of Galilee",a 21 km long and 13 km wide lake.
Israel's summer cinsidered as very warm and dry. July and August might be the 'hottest' monthes of the year while Israel has a developing water problem.
The winter of 2009 was almost 'rainless',a very dry winter which caused a developing water problem. Couple of monthes ago,the Israeli water authority started with a campaign that calls everybody to save up water as much as they can,a television commercial which tries to illustrate how importnt is it now to save up water.
In the commercial you can find Israeli celebrities, singers, actors and even models that all say "Israel is getting dry" - "We must save the Kinneret".
Although the bad situation, no one feels the crisis. The Israelis care about their water and try to save up as much as they can but there is no feeling of shortage, the life continues as they were before, nothing was changed.
Israel has a water problem since it was established in 1948. The 'Mediterranean climate' doesn't give much rain. The Israeli people now about the problem even when there's no danger of 'drying out' - Israel knows how to deal with it.
