Jordan: Al-Alem is Requesting to Study the Opportunity of Providing Jordan with Syrian Waters from the Dams committee
H.E Minister of Water and Irrigation requested that the Jordanian technical committee, a division of the Jordanian-Syrian committee responsible for the Al-Wehda Dam, issue a study to learn of the possibility to provide Jordan with water for storage in the dam.
The committee held a meeting in the Dara’a area to visit the Syrian dams in order to study the opportunity to provide Jordan with water from the Kedna dam to the Alan Wadi through the Nowa canal to the Al-Wehda dam. An agreement between the two countries gives priority for storing water in the Al-Wehda dam over 36 other dams situated in four main valleys which are the main recharge for the Yarmouk River.
