ECO-IMAGINE Final Conference
The Final Conference is aimed to summarise and make a balance of the whole
initiative, summing up the general outputs of the initiative.
Progress made from the beginning of the initiative, both in ICM and in GI
will be reported and discussed, together with the interaction between the
two fields.
An up to date evaluation of the GI/GIS technologies as tool for coastal
management and planning will be done, in order to point out the present
trend in the management, under the point of view of integration,
interdisciplinarity and scientific approach to the subject.
The evolution of local policies and planning toward ICM will be described,
pointing out the role of information technologies as a triggering factor of
this process.
Samples of integrated management and planning of waterfront will be
presented, as core areas for the sustainable development of a wider context.
In particular will be emphasised the role of GIS in integrating waterfronts
into the territorial scale.
An ESRI Award is organised also within the final event. All the participants
interested in applying for the ESRI Award can find detailed information on
the ECO-IMAGINE web-site.
Marie Curie grants are available for supporting the participation of early
stage and more experienced researchers in the conference. The call for
grants and the forms to be filled in are available on the ECO-IMAGINE
web-site (deadline for application: October 7th, 2007).
