EXPO 2015 – WORKSHOP: "Coping with climate change and water scarcity in Africa and Europe: Improving monitoring and water use-efficiency in agriculture"

The promotion of wiser and more efficient use of water in agriculture is becoming a strategy of paramount importance for food security. Different options for monitoring water availability and alternative water sources to be used for irrigation need to be explored, to decrease the unsustainable pressure on groundwater extractions.
This dissemination event will provide state-of-the-art information on innovative tools, techniques and practices for enhancing the monitoring and the management of fresh water resources, and improve water use efficiency at farm level, to ensure food security.
