Organized jointly by the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) International Hydrological Programme (IHP) and the International Association of Hydrological Sciences (IAHS), this colloquium, which will be held in commemoration of the late George Kovacs, former chair of the Intergovernmental Council of the IHP and Secretary General and President of the IAHS, will bring together hydrologists and other technical experts to address the emergence and development of water security concepts and possible evolution in the future.
The Colloquium will address the emergence and development of water security concepts over the past decades, the state of present day ideas and opinions and will look to likely developments in the future. Of particular importance will be inclusion of the new IAHS decade of research “Panta Rhei – Change in Hydrology and Society” and its relevance to Water Security.
All interested hydrologists are invited to participate. Registration will be free of charge. The abstract submission will open soon with detailed instructions for oral as well as for posters sessions. The deadline for submission of abstracts is 4 May 2014.
