Inaugural Event for the Global Innovation through Science and Technology (GIST) Initiative
On behalf of CRDF Global, I would like to invite you to participate in the Inaugural Event for the Global Innovation through Science and Technology (GIST) Initiative. It will be held at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina in Alexandria, Egypt, from December 14-15, 2010.
The GIST Initiative builds on CRDF Global's vision of peace and prosperity through scientific collaboration. Critical to this vision is the fostering of invention, innovation, entrepreneurship, and the commercialization of technology in the Middle East, North Africa, and Asia regions. We will engage stakeholders and leaders from across the three regions in a consultative process to design and implement multinational methodologies to support technology innovation development. Please see the attached summary for more details on the GIST Initiative.
In Alexandria, esteemed representatives from government, non-profit, academia, and industry sectors will convene to develop concrete strategies to advance technology commercialization in key areas such as agriculture, health, information technology, and energy. Through your participation, you will have the opportunity to contribute your expertise to the discussion and to help shape the direction of the multinational strategies and ultimately, the pilot innovation projects selected for funding.
We would be honored by your presence and look forward to seeing you in Alexandria. Please direct your RSVP to our Events Manager, Ms. Angel Leu, at events@crdf.org or (+1) 703-526-9720 no later than Monday, November 15th, 2010.
Sincerely,
Cathleen A. Campbell
President and Chief Executive Officer
