Seminar on National and Trans-boundary Water Ressources Management in Africa, Dodowa (Ghana), 26-30 March 2012
The focus of the seminar was on tools for implementing Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) in national and trans-boundary river basins and aquifers.
Specifically, the seminar was intended to:
(a) present the main instruments (technological, financial, legal and economic) to support the implementation of IWRM at the country and basins/aquifers levels;
(b) present the procedure for taking into account the effects of climate change and other emerging threats on water resources;
(c) share experiences on the development of IWRM instruments in countries and river basins/aquifers in Africa and
(d) conduct a review of progress at regional, national and basins/trans-boundary aquifers in the use of instruments for IWRM in Africa.
